Proactiv Reviews – Is it working or is it a Scam ?
| Proactiv Reviews : Just A marketing Buz?
The Proactiv system is a 3-step solution that claims to treat and prevent acne. It is endorsed by celebrities like Britney Spears and is very heavily advertised: don’t let it fool you. There is a lot of controversy around this product and many Proactiv reviews on the Internet. Proactiv did not make it into our Top 3 products for several reasons: - too harsh on the skin, even people that saw improvements at first had to stop using it - too expensive (you pay for all the marketing buzz) - not a long term solution - terrible Customer Service If you are looking for a permanent Acne Solution I suggest you take a look at our Exposed Skin Care Review. |

What is Proactiv about ?
Proactiv reviews and Proactiv claim to be the solution for Acne for both men and women of all ages. Proactiv’s main claim is that they are the only product on the market that works at preventing acne before the breakouts.
The Proactiv System was conceived by Two dermatologists Dr. Kathy Fields and Dr. Katie Rodan who both had acne issues early on in their lives.
Proactiv is a 3-step system that consists of:
Step 1 – Renewing Cleanser : an oil-free medicated exfoliating cleanser
Step 2 – revitalizing toner : refines and purifies pores
Step 3 – Repairing Treatment : medicated lotion that kills acne-causing bacteria
Most Proactiv reviews we have found are biased and aimed at selling you the product. There are a lot of Proactiv reviews out there and you should make sure they are serious.
How does Proactiv Work ?
Proactiv reviews and the Proactiv website claim that Proactiv fights and controls the acne before the break outs occur. Its combination of medicated treatments and skin care ingredients work together to kill bacteria that cause acne and soothe inflammation of the skin. The product is designed to penetrate deep into the pores to treat it at the root.
Proactiv works by unclogging the pores and killing the bacteria that cause acne. We could not find any information on how it would prevent acne from coming back. This is in fact stated on their website when they say that acne may come back if you stop using Proactiv. Most Proactiv reviews will not tell you this.
Who is Proactiv best suited for ?
According to the manufacturer, Proactiv is efficient on both men and women of all ages. However customer feedbacks show clearly that the chemicals are really harsh and make your skin really itchy, which can make your acne worse than before.
People with sensitive skin should stay away from this product as it could make your acne worse.
Proactiv Side Effects
Because Proactiv contains benzoyl peroxide and alcohol combined with other chemicals, some side effects include:
- itchy skin
- redness
- drying of the skin
The majority of side effects reported seem to be coming from the Toner.
Proactiv reviews should tell you the pros and cons and not sell you Proactiv as the miracle product.
Customer Feedbacks on Proactiv
Like any Acne treatment, customers feedbacks vary but it seems that about 60% of the customers are moderately satisfied to satisfied, while 40% would definitely not recommend the product. Many customers have been disappointed by the fact that once you stop using Proactiv, Acne comes back harder than before the treatment.
All complains are around 2 main topics:
- the product is too harsh on the skin
- The cancellation is a real nightmare as you are automatically enrolled in an automated monthly billing. This is the Proactiv Scheme to get you to keep using Proactiv forever and no Proactiv reviews talk about this.
Why you Should not use Proactiv
From the customer feedbacks and side effects we don’t recommend Proactiv as a solution to cure acne.
Proactiv is too hash on sensitive skin and in many cases has caused more damage than good.
